To Each It's Own!!

Below is one of my favorite lines written by one of my friends - Sakshi Kukreja !!
"Before you can grow up, you must fall in love three times.

Once, you must fall in love with your best friend, ruining your friendship forever. This will teach you who your true friends are, and the fine line between friendship and more....

Once you must fall in love with someone you believe is perfect. You will learn that no one is perfect, and that you should never be treated as anything less than you deserve....

And once, you must fall in love with someone that is exactly like you. This will teach you about who you are, and who you want to be...

And when you’re through with all that, you learn that the people who care about you the most are the ones that you hurt, and the ones that hurt you are the ones that needed you the most.
But most of all, you learn that love is only a concept and is not something that can be defined, it is different to each and every person on this earth, knowing that everyone wants to be loved."
This doesn't end here. So, lets add more to it.
They say a heart break is necessary to understand the sudden transformation from a happy to a suffering person and to be happy again. Also, although the above lines say to fall in love thrice- but even if that happens once and follows every criteria explained- you learn a lot even then.
Yes, it's true that love is only a concept. Some express, some shy away, some care, some fight, some let it go, some care to hold on. But, the one I liked is hoping for other person's well-being even if he/she is not the one for you. (Probably, it's the Vampire Diaries/Bollywood masala which brought this one up- but, again some believes are still difficult to shatter). Nevertheless, love has another concept - which says it's selfless.
But, here comes my explanation which says it's not selfless. You are happy in somebody's happiness as it makes you happy. So, finally if it was all for my happiness, how is it selfless. Perhaps, everyone longs for love despite the fact only a few understand the depth.
Anyways, I really loved your lines SAKSHI - in case you are reading this one.

Punner

That shivering which made everything still,
The fire is no more a symbol of hatred,
It  gives away warmth,

It burns,
It destroys,
But, amidst the destruction,
While acting as a relief provider,
No one curses it.

I wonder,
how selfish is Human,
Criticizes when fire ruins,
Appreciates when fire ruins for his mere sake.

The dilemma from ages,
the beauty or the devastation.
For the same piece of work,
Some witness the glory,
some get satisfaction,
some enjoy the fete,

Probably,
That chunk of misfortune
is for the ones who were burnt
not for ones who relished the ashes.

Why Resolutions 2012?

Remember those days when only a scolding from Dad used to change the habits.
So, why do we need a New Year resolution to overcome the laziness? Why do we need an external force rather a materialistic reason when the internal forces can drive and make sure you go on long?

This year – atleast there’s no resolutions for me.
I am not planning to do anything which will start from 1st of Jan and probably won’t even last that long.

While life is moving on with the same pace each day and there is no place to sit back and plan most of the time, it becomes even more difficult to plan for a resolution.
I recall writing a post last year related to resolutions 2011 quoting the do's and Dont's.
It's almost the end of 2011- and many a times when I re-read that particular post made me realise -It's seriously easy to pen down and too difficult to follow the same.

2011 was like all other years filled with surprises and shocks. And, while I have been hearing - " Come out of your comfort zone" for the past 6 months, the only thing which I learnt is - every person seeks for their comfort zone and end up saying -" Life will be easy if you come out of your comfort zone."
Ironical but true.

The most funny of all things which 2011 has shown is to start laughing at your mistakes, enjoying the simple pleasures. I have loved walking alone for past few months. It really gives a peace of mind, time to think and resolves a lot many doubts.
But, I never planned for a daily walk till today. It randomly happens- and requires no prior resolution.
Probably, there are many who knew -"Take life as it comes to you funda". May be I knew it too. But, practicing it is a bit tricky. Slowly and gradually- every other day seems alike but at the end of the day - it's unique in it's own way.

No matter where I started, no matter where I will end- when at the end of the day-
there are no resolutions which are broken and there is nothing to lose.

These days- every morning I wake up and do not plan. And, some days things actually click.
One fine morning, when everything worked and everything is beautiful around.
Do we still need some resolutions?

May be today was the right day and you made a resolution for the next week and lost the opportunity which knocked your door.

Resolutions are just a process to keep yourself going.

Trying to keep going on happily everyday.

Hope this one works!!

TAINTED

The voices crying,
howling and roaring,

I hear the heresy
reject and proceed.
Mid way - the blood bleeds.
It asks and none answer.

The wait is interminable.
The jist incomparable.
It perhaps have blended in our soul too.
The city's subversion of rural innocence.
Give and take is the final solution.

We destroyed,
the little believes we had.

Shattered.

Ranbir Kapoor : RockStar

Amidst the fading passion for writing, Rockstar just brings a ray of hope for me.

It has been one of the most awaited movies of 2011.The music has actually overpowered all senses.
The songs to name a few- "Phir se Udd chala", " Nadaan Parinde", "Tum ho", "Jo bhi mai"...and the like are always played on a repeating list.
The wait for 11.11.11 had been too long but the effect just lost it's charm in and out of hall.

Ranbir Kapoor - the rising star. A.R. Rahman -The pride of India. Mohit Chauhan- An absolute solace provider with a divine voice. You can actually feel the love and pain of songs in his voice. Absolutely different lyrics.

You actually seem to wonder -Are these really the lyrics or am I wondering? I did so for -
"Kaagar kaagar
Morhi itni araj tohse
Chun chun khahiyoo maas
Arajiya re khahiyoo na
Do nain mohe
Khahiyoo na do nain mohe
Piya ke milan ki aas
Khahiyoo na do nain mohe
Khahiyoo na do nain mohe
Piya ke milan ki aas"

While I have always known that promos and music is mostly deceiving when it comes to Bollywood but the combo pack which Rockstar has, shows the way to theaters, though just once.

But, I am surprised at Imitiaz Ali. Though Luv Aaj Kal had been a trace but atleast we expect a better story line from the director who has given us -"Socha na tha" and "Jab We Met". Probably, Luv aaj Kal should have been kept in mind too.

When you start watching Rockstar after a few reviews already on web. You can actually see each and every possible flaw time and again.
The most important flaw: -who else but Ranbir's eye candy- Nargis.
Words are seriously less to criticize her. A loud role, and cheap comedy doesn't really harm a movie but when it's Nargis on stage- yes! it harms a movie.
Recalling Ayesha Takia from Socha na tha potrayed a similar character but it suited her so well.
The first scene to last scene - Nargis is equally bad in each one. Too loud, too adventerous and seriously very monotonous.
A Delhi boy -who is innocent and loves food with a desire to be a singer suddenly meets a girl, acts silly, proposes her and gets dumped. Well, you can definitely laugh out loudly on the innocent Ranbir. The worst dressing sense in the initial scenes makes it more funny.
The dialogues-"Junglii Jawani", " Palang Tod", " Burger Off-mujhe toh iska matla bhi nahi pata" brings a smile on face. Ranbir's reaction on -"Dil todne ki machine hai yeh" is awesome. The Scene after he is dumped and gives thousand different expressions and says-" Itni se chutney mai do samoshe kao mai" is laughable.
There was not even a single scene where Ranbir has been found misleading the performance.
Though it's true that better words and best music can come from a painful heart. But, a poor editing made the transition so dull. Apart from Kun faya no other scenes could make you feel for the guy.
The promotions said there is a wonderful chemistry between Ranbir and Nargis. I surely, was not able to find it. No love, no pain only anger which is seen in Ranbir's eyes and attitude. But, the only question was- Were not the reasons to be so angry with the world silly. When the girl is still hanging out with the guy, what's the reason for such a hue and cry. Perhaps, the similar acting but a different plot would have made the movie a memorable one.

The most illogical part of film is where the actress recovers in the presence of Ranbir calling it the magical touch. Although, if it had been a miracle, she would have been  perfectly alright. But, the fluctuating health of Nargis takes an unending sine curve. Nargis Fakhri is an utter failure at capturing that essence -- as Heer she was to be both wilful and wild, enigmatic and tragic. Try as you will to like her, her mouth gets in the way.
Unbelievable and even "exaggeration" would be a small world.

The last scene where "Nadaan Parinde" ends on Nargis's entry leaves a open ended movie. Did the actress really died. If yes, where has the magical touch lost and if no, then is there any end of the movie.

Rockstar leaves many questions unanswered. It lacks a story line up and the most annoying thing - it repeats the same old story with which Bollywood has been surviving.  For that anger in Rockstar, the audience demand a better reason.
Also, if only a break up could lead you to a great sensational star with a "I don't give a damn" attitude and lots of fame and money, our half the population had been Sensational singers. And, if only a mere presence of a person could heal you, Doctors would never be required nor would MBBS so tough an exam. :P

The essence of  reality and logic would have added a glory to Rockstar, alas.
We appreciate the honest work by Ranbir. But, sometimes it's not the intimate scenes in the movie which makes the chemistry glow, it's the process to make your audience feel so.
To end, Rockstar is not so awesome as expected but the music is adorable.
Rightly said by someone, Rockstar could have been Zanjeer for Ranbir.Go and watch it for Ranbir and to hear the charisma of music.

That Mysterious World of Advertisements

From time immemorial, the best of the selling techniques has been Advertisements. In between that one movie you had been waiting to watch for so long on T.V. ..comes an half an hour long advertisement making you flip the channels, search for new shows but ends up in finding the advertisement on every other channel you flip. :D

They say- "First impression is the last impression." It might not go right for every damn thing in the world but goes very true for the lucrative ads people make.
You can have a look http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/70-creative-advertisements-that-makes-you-look-twice/  for the same.

I would say we have always had a series of creative people who have made one of the best ads ever. Also, people might not have necessarily bought the things after seeing the ads but we definitely appreciate the effort.

I have my Facebook page glowing with the ads every now and then.
The Kitkat ad which says- "Have a break, have a kitkat" is counted on my list as one of the cutest animations portrayed. Such a simple way to say -It's a beautiful life, but you should have some spare time to witness it.To be true enough, I still think it was the charm of the ad which made me replace Cadbury from Kitkat.

The same goes for Idea's -"What an idea Sirji" and especially to the 3G par Busy ...The first look made me laugh aloud. The second one- what a brilliant way to mock at yourself and still show the brilliance of 3G technology.
But the creativity is not visible in every ad we see. Last night, while flipping the channels-I saw some of the worst ads made-One of the leading ones is new EverReady ad. It's horrible with no limits.

"Washing powder Nirma" is still hummed and still recalled. That's when we say-"Old is gold."
The Loreal, Pantene, Garnier and so on..ads make the natural beauty their own discoveries. And we the people believe every minuscule of it. Rather, we don't believe it but are always willing to try something new. The sales rise. The latest Handbags ad featuring Kareeena Kapoor is one of the best showing the mood swings. You will definitely want to see it again. The ad is about a girl searching for a perfect Black hand bag and ends up buying an orange one. The basic aim was to satisfy your customer and tolerate their drastic mood swings. But, orange-GO GET A LIFE!! An orange hand bag sucks. I would have appreciated the ad more if it had not been the poor choice of color.

Advertisements, sales and popularity probably have become partners. Each one contributes to the success of another.

You can witness the same advertising policy and charm during the release of a movie. Everyone would  remember Ghajini and Ra.One's publicity stunt.

That mysterious world of advertisements is just like "THE CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC." If you don't know about it-Confessions is a movie about a girl who loves shopping to the heights. I have always loved the movie and specifically the shopping part. Advertisements- They make you believe, they make you want things and actually fall for them. You might feel I am exaggerating.
So, how many of you love your iPhone, Samsung Wave or HTC as a matter of fact. Many  of us. Steve Jobs was so true when he said that you often need to tell people what they actually want by making them seeing one.

Advertisements did the same.

How much is too much?

They say – “Excess of everything is harmful”.

An extra sweet coffee is equivalent to the  pain in the  ass as is caused by overburden of work.

From excess clothes in the wardrobe which makes it clumsy each day to a huge gathering where people become crowd- & The list goes on.

But when do you come to know that the necessary things in life just became excess. Of course, the question sounds stupid when it is terms of sugar in your coffee. But, is it really that funny?
The last few days have left me pondering- How much is too much?
Every human being is unique. But in spite of the differences , every one gets happy, sad , excited and loses his patience.
The bounds of the familiar emotions I mentioned above are not defined. They say patience is a virtue.
And, there's no limit of patience.

I was once asked - Which is better-Being Patient or being cool?
This dates back to college where I didn't understand the difference between the two much. And I replied -Patience.

But today being Cool is more appealing as the difference is perfectly understood. :)

The last couple of days or  may be months have left me pondering over a series of emotions- I could not understand whether it is Depression, irritation, frustration, expectation or a series of dissatisfaction. Although, whatever it might be, it left me with the feel how much is actually a tolerable range for a normal human being.

And, certainly my limits have been crossed at certain times too. But, the only thing I could not understand is-

They say- Patience is a virtue. But, did it even crossed anyone's mind that it might become your weakness as well.
Of course the outcome of such bursts is not overwhelming. You end up being caught in disturbing situations.

In these few months/days,
1.Patience might be a virtue, but even it's excess makes you feel weak and helpless inside. And you can see that change in yourselves in and out.

2.They say being short tempered is a lack of trait. I agree. But, not getting angry when you actually need to reflects-
a)The unresponsive behavior which leads you to become monotonous and emotionless.
 b) Also affects the human characteristics.
c)Too much of patience makes you lose your inner self.

3.Get angry, abuse people but just try not to do the same on the risk of your job. Rather, be prepared you have another one in your hand. :D

I have often felt the need to answer this one- You never know how much is too much until the same circumstances are faced by you.
Even excess love turn you disappointing. If a certain someone asks you about your daily routine at the same pace each day- the boredom in relationship starts reflecting and a day comes when you feel it's better to let go even if it had been the best you have had all through your life.

It's better to clear away things as they pass on. Sometimes, clearing away your head makes space for new tortures to be accommodated.

Neither does everyone understand the same, but it gives a relief to know that I just understood it.
