Review: TILL GOD WAKES: Immortal Story of SINO-INDIAN War in NEFA

In the bustling landscape of 20th-century socio-political activism, few figures stand as luminously as Paramjit Kumar, an Indian-born author, philosopher, and economist. His life's narrative, intricately woven with global peace endeavors, socio-cultural activism, and prophetic insights, unfolds vividly in the pages of "Paramjit Kumar: A Benevolent Proponent," authored by Monica B Sood.

The Legacy Unveiled:

The book meticulously traces Kumar's life from his youth in 1945, where he established connections with towering figures like Mahatma Gandhi and engaged in dialogues pivotal to preventing the partition of India. Kumar's mission extended beyond national boundaries; he became an envoy for Tibetan freedom, blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. His journey was marked by adept diplomacy and relentless pursuit of peace, resonating with diverse cultures worldwide.

Insights and Prophecies:

Kumar's prescience shines through in his prior publications, notably "Lest We Become Slaves," where he foresaw China's future aggression towards India. "Roll Call of Death," based on his experiences in the Vietnam War, offered poignant reflections on conflict and its human toll. His "The People's Guardian" magazine unveiled social injustices and political corruption in India, earning both acclaim and controversy.

The New Zealand Connection:

Controversies led Kumar to relocate to New Zealand, where his collaboration with labor leader Norman Kirk resulted in electoral success, with Kirk becoming Prime Minister. Their enduring friendship symbolized a shared commitment to social justice and progressive ideals.

The Impact:

"Paramjit Kumar: A Benevolent Proponent" is more than a biography; it's a testament to the power of intellect and advocacy. Kumar's wisdom continues to guide, offering insights into navigating complexities and championing causes of global significance.

Final Thoughts:

In its 344 pages, Monica B Sood's portrayal of Paramjit Kumar is both comprehensive and captivating. It's a narrative that traverses continents, ideologies, and struggles, leaving readers enriched with lessons in diplomacy, foresight, and compassion. This book is a tribute to a remarkable individual whose legacy transcends borders and generations.

Paramjit Kumar's story serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, urging us to strive for a world of understanding, peace, and justice.

Little did I know !!

 My heart is weeping today,

It is not just my eyes.

My soul is dead today,

Not just my body.

When you try to be brave,

But the heart has given up.

When they tell you to stay strong,

But you know you have been wronged.

You let the soul die until it is ready to rise,

Again from the ashes.

You let the memory box hidden,

Unless you are ready to trust again.

Little did I know,

Believing your words,

Trusting your smile , will take away mine.

Little did I know,

It is not just my eyes, but even my heart crying.

Little did I know,

One day

2022 onwards Implementation of Life changes

1. Have only good & positive thoughts.

Often it happens that we are encircled by negative incidents and people, hence our thoughts are negative and whiny.

Whatever, it is try to manifest happiness and peace for yourself.

2. Forgive

It is the difficult thing ever to do, forgiving someone for the worst they have done ever to you.

Forgiving is ultimate path to healing, so whatever you think someone has done, don't downgrade to their level but instead forgive them. Forgive so that the hurt reduces. Obviously, other people are not feeling your hurt & pain. Only you are. You can only try to live if you let go of the pain and person.

3. Boundaries

I have often thought- suppose you hate a person from your office, but still you don't go and say that at his face. You maintain your cool because that's office.

But, as friends or partners or relationships, we often cross those boundaries.

We should not. Learnt it the hard way, implementation is even tougher, but that's the right way to do it.

4. Let Go

5. Care Free

6. Be humble

7. Silence :

Silence is the key to success at times. Words can be interpreted in various ways.

.. to be updated more.

Pain : No Pain, No Gain- Really?

Have you encountered pain? Of course you have.

I have too.. But, have you encountered endless pain. Ya, it just doesn't end.

You are waking up each morning, getting dressed up, taking all your meals on time, faking that smile,

or may be smiling, working, studying or doing chores..or may be not all the time.

But, that pain has become a part of you, it doesnot leave you.

And, what are doing about it? Rather, what can I do about it?

What is enough in this life?

Am I so difficult to comprehend?

If someone asks you- if you have a lot of money, will that be enough? The answer is No.

If someone asks - if only love enough? The answer is still No.

Then, what is the answer??

I don't have it!! Believe me ! I don't.

I always believed excess of everything is harmful. But, life never gave anything in excess. I also believe that everything in right proportion, just like the spices in correct quantity makes the life beautiful.

If the money is excess, may be greed will never give away. But, wishing that we have the least to luxurious is okay, isn't it? Why are we working- for a better living or to improve our living!!!

If love is excess, may be one partner starts to doubt the other, and the other starts to feel suffocated. You know what love is - letting the other being live freely while they still belong to you.

Have you seen how your mother loves you(most of you)- she wont complain, she won't demand and she won't expect. But, all other relationships are not that way. Also, if any other relation lose their trust, they demand conditions to be fulfilled to get back trust. But, trust once broken will not mend.

I was very sick recently, matlab yamraj hi dikh gye the. And, the people I considered as my day and night didn't drop me even 1 message. All I could think was suppose I die now - I would not even talk to them for the last time?  Were they thinking about me - No?

What happened to the trust and love? I feel like a fool !! But, that's life.

But, friends - a few of them - they are there to listen you cribbing,.making the same mistakes again and again. Hoping you will find you way.

I wish life makes us friends first so that we don't hurt each other and try to understand one another.

I might think differently and you might not agree, But, when you are friends first - you will give yourself a chance of understand the other one!!

Once this friend of mine said - you are vegetarian and you don't drink which is your choice but don't you think you are missing a lot of things because you rejected them even before giving them a fair chance!! Isn't it the same when we just tie up in beliefs!!

You know what is enough - If two persons can share similar goal or atleast support each other in their individual goals without being superior. If you do not talk, but the other person's presence in the room calms you down. Isn't that the security you need. If each one understands their responsibilities, wont it be perfect!

A few drinks, a few trips, a few tears of ecstasy,

And I laugh and you laugh,

Isn't that merry enough !!

But, may be I am very difficult to comprehend !!

Till then !!

 It is all dark,

I can't see anything..

Will it get any brighter

or will it keep giving me the same storm every now and then.

I am losing it,

I can be brave but for how long,

For everytime, I try being  me,

sky becomes open and rains start falling.

There is no forgiveness for breaking someone's hopes and dreams.

It is the circle of life,

And, one day you will know that every fallen tear,

will come back to haunt you.

Till then, Let Go !!!

Our Truths!!

The other day he said that he had sent me the Netflix User/pwd and I denied saying I didnot get any.

The technical glitch made us lier in the eyes of the other...

There are 3 kinds of truth:

Your Truth: That yes, you had sent me the password details. Another of your truth, like I have not been very good to you and not very supportive.

My truth : I didnot receive the password details- may be some technical glitch.
Another of my truth, I believe I have been trying to meet the best I can, with your expectations without changing me as a person.

And, the actual truth:

That we are struggling to be together. How 2 people can miss each other and still are not able to sort the differences.  Sometimes, there are sleepless nights with the cluttered thoughts which we can't convey to each other. But, your truth and my truth is not letting us have a happy life.

Relationships are delicate, even a slight disrespect and how we lose the important people in our life.

Sometimes, I think and agree that time has changed me to a brutal person with cruel words and I feel sad because my words used to soft. I was a better friend and a better person and then how did I get here? How did we get so self involved that we hurt people who matter to us?
May be it happens to many people as a reflex or as a rebound action or I really am not sure about the reason?

What the Pandora Box brought!!

As we grew up, the difference between the fictitious world and real world became more and more evident. As a child and a Bollywood fan, I believed in the true love and the power of it.
I thought people change when they find affection for themselves in someone else.
I believed that some friendships remain all throughout life and they are your greatest support system and further I believed there is always someone for each one out there.

May be this is the saddest post I am writing or may be this is what happens with everyone.
Friendships - I guess they always stay but then how suddenly a guy's importance becomes more valuable than your family's or friend's worth. Who knows?
May be the only pure relation is that of a couple. How does it even matter what happens to the so called family!!

Coming to true love,..well Wake Up Sid made a crazy, lazy Sid find love and take up responsibility.
But, in reality, I guess people don't change. They have it inbuilt in their genes and are too stubborn too change even for the good. I guess when a guy tells you that they are the bad ones., they actually are!! Never doubt it and never ever seek that good part in them. B'coz in the end, good people get torn and they are not really sure why.
May be life teaches you so many things at one go that one day the heart loses it's power to acknowledge loss of people.

But when heart gets devoid of any pain, it takes in with it too many pains and losses and heartaches.
Pain can only caused if you have some hope from someone else.
Perhaps, you get to live and see how you can live with a stoic heart.
This Women's Day, I hope every women out there becomes strong enough to tackle & handle this world on their own and only enter a person's existing so called perfect life when treated with every tint of respect and love which she deserves.

Hoping world becomes a better place to live in or We just have to become Stronger, Wiser & Brazen!

Love Happens!!

"May be if he cared enough, he would never have left", she pondered while trying to put her broken heart to sleep. "May be she will understand someday", he sipped that coffee and took a deep breathe.

#PiKu !!

10th May 2015

Fingers on the keyboard are just waiting for the right words to complement the epic way Piku has been narrated and pictured.

Piku is the story of a daughter who is busy baby sitting her 70 yrs old Baba, Amitabh Bachchan.
From the first scene towards the end, Piku mesmerizes you on the various events and close to reality conversations, the family arguments and various discussions whose root cause is "Motion" which is sometimes also aptly referred to as "Mango Pulp" - Well it is summers indeed ! ;-)

Ofcourse, the movie is predictable. An eccentric father, a caring yet stubborn daughter and a terrific Taxi Owner (Irfan). Midway, the aptly captured culture of Delhi and Kolkata.
Well, to describe how well defined the punches were or how real the performance is not really a point to discuss.Piku, indeed has conveyed so many messages with sarcasm or as we term the witty humor.

Piku is a daughter's effort to take care of her aged father. There is a dialogue where Deepika says, " Parents cant live on their own after an age, they have to be kept alive." True indeed. Piku maintains an emotional connect to the audience because of the sensitive topic like parenting.

While Baba leaves no stone unturned to keep the life of everyone around him miserable, he is still the most lovable character. There are a few instances which have touched my heart the most specially when Baba mentions that only low IQ people get married. At first, the sentence seems hilarious. On a second thought, my brain says Mom would have definitely be agreeing with Baba. But, on the third instance when Baba explains, only Marriage with a purpose is worthy. You can't agree more with him.
Of the least I know about India, marriage becomes the circumcentre of all life activities. And, then at some point of time, marriage becomes the sole purpose of a women's life. Although the world is changing. But, deep down the concept of equalization is still alien for Indians. Now, they need a working women to share the expenses and not a meaningful life. Obviously, we can't generalize everything but for a large population, it is this scenario.

Piku's independent yet arrogant attitude reflects how inhuman can a person be while she constantly blames drivers for the accident. The best part of Sircar is that he has conveyed these thoughts with light comedy where you keep laughing. As they say, the best of messages and worst of comments are given with the pinch of sarcasm & comedy to keep the environment healthy & light. But, then the same Piku is tolerant towards each and every Motion details about her Baba.

Not to forget, Irfan Khan's stupendous comedy timing and natural acting talent. Each and every dialogue is delivered with a straight face, with sarcasm and with sheer awesomeness. The wittiness and the connect is
impeccable.
A movie's success is also depended on the dialogues. Juhi Chaturvedi, dialogue writer for Piku has done a spectacular job by keeping it light, close to real life conversations and importantly, close to the culture.
The Kolkata glimpses are simply adorable.

Piku, as have been said by all, is not a romantic movie. It is an effort to make today's children realise their duties towards their parents. Perhaps, Piku is a beautiful gift given by Bollywood on this Mother's day.
A must watch!!

That World of Fiction!!

And, the voice goes louder. Not even sure if it is in your ears or your head. But, the spinning sound goes on and perhaps makes you forget everything else.
In literal sense, the world goes mute and it is you and the music.
Yes, Music does that to you. It creates the void around the rest of the world and creates a world of your own.

The other day, it seemed pretty lame to walk towards home. Plugged the headphones, put on a few
favorite songs and the burden subsided eventually.
Perhaps, it is all about creating a world of your own. And, the idleness will vanish.

It is all about sidelining the clutter, noises and may be people for sometime.
Try creating a peaceful world of your own fiction. 'Coz sometimes, fiction is better than the reality.

To another year which just rushed. Yes, this one did rush a lot.
Happy New Year!! Hoping to write a little more and better. :-)

Solitude !!

Sometimes we are part of the crowd, 'coz seclusion was way too obvious !!!

Tuesday, November 18, 2014

The silence prevailed. And she said, "Hi".
There was no voice in return except the mourning of the phone.
Nostalgia made that tear leave the eye and all she could recall was
that there was a time, this voice was loved to be heard. And. then there is this day.

‎TimeTurner

The brain knew that you will leave. And, so you did.
The heart stays weak and calmly waits for thee to return.
Perhaps, One fine day either one will prove itself right, only to find that
love vanished in search of endless yearning!!

Still seeking You!!

Often, those eyes were amazed to see a face similar to yours in the crowd. They would roll back to that face to realize, you are still not in the vicinity. The heart sinks and eyes close only to find an ambiguous reflection of yours. Only to convince that you are still close, if not to the body but to the soul.

New Girl in the City- ||

It is the similar feeling that Konkana Sen had from Wake Up Sid, when she writes first time about Mumbai.

As soon as we are born in India, Mumbai becomes an obsession for all the Indians due to the typical Bollywood Syndrome. Remember, Amit ji singing "Eee hai bambai nagariya, tu dekh babua" from Don.
Seriously, Amit ji have always had a deep impact on all the Indians.

I would also like to confess that I'm not that typical nomadic person who loves to see places, but
recently, I was just hymning the "Mumbai" song. And, as greatly quoted by Paulo Coehlo, "And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."
And, Mumbai seemed a reality.

Apologetically, since Mumbai was a dream destination, I created a mess in some friend's life I confided in and asked so many questions. The good part about a Mumbai person is that they are eager to suggest places. So, my list was made and we were ready to go. Surprisingly, I was so excited that I ended up sleeping for only an hour. The great part of being in a state of happiness is that you are completely devoid of  sleep.

That first step on CST Mumbai was such a heroic moment. I have visited Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Delhi, Gurgaon, Pune.. Mumbai has been added to my list. The first time I entered Pune, I found it slow and rather empty considering the fact that I had seen an immense crowd during my entire life.

Mumbai, on the other hand, had lots of people. For God's grace, we traveled on a weekend and found the crowd less. When you enter CSTM, you find a wide variety of food joints at the station itself.
Ignoring those as we moved forward, I found a bunch of people surviving their livelihood by polishing the shoes. And, there was this Sethji types person whose shoes were getting polished.
I could not resist commenting.. OMG!! this is where that famous Amitabh Bachchan dialogue came from:
" Main aaj bhi phenke hue paise ni uthata...haaiiiiieeeee".

Next, we were very clear about spending the whole day roaming in South Mumbai. So, we got outside to get some commutation for ChurchGate. Do you remember, most of the old movies where Mumbai was pictured with so many black and yellow taxi... Yeah, it was that WoW moment when we sat in one of those and moved to church gate.
Some feelings in the world are just epic. Even words can't describe them.
Although, there was a low moment in middle of those fancy taxi rides , when I saw Santro being utilised as another taxi. Only, a Santro owner can understand the agony behind. And, a brand new Ford is now already getting on my mind. Doesn't really feels good when you know Mumbai uses Santro's as Taxi.
#Typical_Me !!

From Church gate, we decided to roam here and there and reach GateWay of India.
The thing about roaming on streets is that once you start moving, you witness a thousand places you didn't intend to see. We reached Bombay High Court, took some photos and moved on. Searched some spot to feed our crying stomach which was only served liquid diet from quite sometime. We kept walking, bought a few things, definitely moved in some wrong directions. Traversed Mahatma Gandhi Road, reached Rhythm House ( we even went inside :P ). We reached The Bargain Book Hut and ended up not getting any of the books I needed. Amitav Ghosh should be knowing that his books aren't in the stores at all.

To our great surprise, we were walking for like hours and still haven't reached Gateway of India. Perhaps, the excitement was too much and in-spite of the humidity, we kept walking.
Finally, on reaching the Gateway of India, the only thing which I spoke was India Gate looks better.
And, of course the Great Taj Hotel. Haven't it for Kasab, I would not get to know, there was something like a Taj Hotel.
The best part was the seaside near GOI. We longed for a ferry ride. But,after spending some auspicious minutes standing in the sun we moved to Starbucks near Taj.
Some moments are super cool like entering Starbucks for the first time. :-)
Mumbai Starbucks was indeed crowded. We were terribly tired and in no mood to talk. So, we consumed our drinks and were ready for Crawford Market.Indeed, I assumed that Marine drive and Crawford are neighbors. Ended up in a drastic failure, they were poles apart.
So, now we were moving in Crawford market. And, Seriously we didn't really find much shopping stuff much to our surprise. The bargain capacity was already gone after long tiring walk. But, some enthu. came after seeing a pretty white Wedding Gown wore by that mannequin.
Time was running and we still wanted to see Nariman Point, Marine Drive and Chowpatty beach.

This time no taxi entertained us.. so after some half an hr struggle we got a taxi and reached Marine Drive.
I have always seen seas in movies. The brook was the only real thing I have seen in reality or the rivers as viewed from the Trains.
This time the sea was real.

The waves were not very high but were a sight to look at. The best thing about Mumbai : Marine Drive was that you tend to find people of all age groups. The sea was wide and the waves were high.
We were drenched of our energy but how can we miss the beach. So, we started walking.
The best part of the day was experiencing the waves at Chowpatty beach.

Mumbai made me love it and that too at it's first site. And, I got to know that Love at first sight does happen.
There's something in those waves, a feeling my words aren't really able to describe. It's sheer simplicity and a sense of inner peace. The waves rose and fall. There was a small child throwing pebbles at the wave and running away as the wave came to confront him.

You know that thing about seas, they can consume everything..just everything and might even forget it.

Such profound knowledge these little interactions might give you. Smiling at the very thought.

So, finally our day ended and we were heading off. So, while in Mumbai can you miss the Mumbai Local.
No, you don't.!! The Mumbai local experience was good. It was not way crowded as I saw in The Wednesday and Saathiya. May be that was a Saturday Peace.

Our one day was huge and the second day brought us to Bandra.

Bandra..Link Road and we were into shopping. We showed the signs of a typical shopaholic.
Bought a lot, really not a lot but still. Roamed more. I will skip the shopping part.
Personally, I loved Mumbai for all the things the streets had to offer.

Our time actually flew away in Link Road itself. So, we decided to spend some few minutes at Bandstand.
From Bandra to Bandstand, we were just in front of  Mannat.
SRK did want to meet us, but we were in a hurry. Dear SRK, don't worry. Next time for sure. :-)

How strange is this life. I actually, never imagined myself atleast roaming about in Mumbai and here I was at Bandstand. The waves were mighty. Sometimes, it feels those vividly high waves can anytime take you away with them. Bandstand was a superb place. Thus, our journey came to an end.

So, Mumbai visit was a happening one. Sometimes, we love the place 'coz of all things it tends to offer.
Mumbai was new but it didn't really feel like a New Girl in the city.
Bidding Adieu.. Hoping to see the waves again and experience what you call Serenity in disguise.

Silence...

Heart beats increased.Eyes searched someone whom she could confide in.
The shivering fingers dialed him and disconnected constantly. Eyes were turning moist.
There was a brawl between the heart and mind. At last, the heart won.
There came a mild voice saying I'm busy. And, The silence prevailed.

Love, simply is not enough !!

Every night, she hoped to hear from him.
& every morning, Her moist eyes opened simply wishing to see him.
He, on the other hand, had created a world of his own where she was rarely thought of.
Love, perhaps, simply is not enough...

Everybody leaves !!

Sooner or later,
In the midst of sunshine or rain,
In happiness or Pain,
Everybody leaves.

In search of a better tomorrow.
To Introspect,
To gain pride and know the deeper aspect.
To a wonderful life.
To seek the happiness,
To bid adieu to pain.
Someday Everybody leaves
And, no longer to be held in disdain.

And, Everybody leaves............... !!!
